Education at S.H.A.R.E.

S.H.A.R.E. is Advancing Education by empowering educators, learners, and researchers to bridge classroom instruction and clinical practice with simulation-based educational methods and cutting-edge simulation technologies. Simulation instructional methodologies utilized at S.H.A.R.E. include web and screen-based pre- and post-learning simulations, digital and multimedia simulators, skills and procedural task trainers, mixed reality simulation (VR/AR/MR), Standardized Patients and Participants, high-fidelity simulators from newborn to geriatric, combination hybrid simulations, and developmental and beta-testing of new and emerging simulation technologies.

Simulation-based instruction is embedded across most of our academic degree clinical courses, in our Continuing Education courses, and an elective simulation health studies course. Simulations are also incorporated in training conducted with our educational colleagues within UM, UHealth, SONHS clinical education partners and our hosted educational event clients. Set in the backdrop of a fully equipped and realistic hospital environment, we offer of a full range of simulation-based experiential learning, spanning the range from students to clinicians, and supported by the expert faculty and staff, our many Certified Healthcare Simulation Educators (CHSE) instructors, and resources of the world-renowned University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies and the Simulation Hospital Advancing Research and Education (S.H.A.R.E.).
